Description
The sun had finally reappeared after a week straight of rain. The horses were anxious to get outside again, with Connor expressing it the most.
The big Paint-cross had been kicking up a storm in his stall, even resorting to standing in his yard in the pouring rain poised like an Arab. Ben in particular had been worried Connor was going to injure himself - he could have too easily split his hoof if he hit a loose nail. As soon as the rain relented, Ben decided to try take him for a nice calm walk through the bush - needless to say it ended up being more of a wrestle to keep him from galloping off. The minimal-sabino gelding was showing off his Thoroughbred bloodlines and pushed his strides out, much to the pain of Ben. Ben regretted his decision of not riding him in a bitted bridle - the bosal was doing him no favours in keeping the big guy under control.
He was, however, glad he hadn't bothered to wait for Jess to take Arctic out to check the trails first - Connor would've needed an iron fist to slow him down.
